Quran 4

The Qur’an enjoins and directs its readers to ponder and reflect on its revelations:

“We have sent down to you a Book which is blessed, so that people may apply their minds to its revelations; and the men of wisdom may reflect”. (Qur’an 38:29)

“We have given examples of every kind, for men in this Qur’an, so that they may contemplate”. (Qur’an 39:27)

Towards Understanding the Quran -Tafheem ul Quran

Do You Know That If Al-Qur'an Is The Answer Then: What Is The Question?

Rasulullah (SAW) said: On the Day of Judgement, before Allah, no other intercessor will have a greater status than the Quran, neither a Prophet nor an angel.

Rasulullah (SAW) said: "When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased. When after the burial, the people return home, 2 angels, Munkar and Nakeer (names of two special Angels), come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to interrogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says,"He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not leave him alone in any case. If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise". Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, "I am the Qura'an, which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Naker, you will have no grief". When the interrogation is over, the handsome man arranges for him from Al-Mala'ul A'laa (the angels in Heaven) a silk bedding filled with musk.

Benefits of learning Tajweed

The benefits of learning tajweed are many as reflected in some of the following hadeeth:

  • The reciters of the Qur’an will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels

‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:  “Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will  be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have twice that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

  •  You will be from the best of people

Uthmaan, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:  “The best of you are the ones who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others” [Al-Bukhari]

  • There are ten rewards for for each letter you recite from the Quran

“Whoever  reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will  be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter. ” [Tirmidhi states this is saheeh]

  •  The Qur’an will lead you to Paradise!
"The Qur’an is an intercessor, something given permission to intercede, and it is rightfully believed in. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise; whoever puts it behind him, it will steer  him to the Hellfire.” {An authentic hadith found in At-Tabaraanee, on the authority  of ‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood}
